WW Wednesday!

SUPER excited! Im now at 217.2!!!! Unfortunately, no picture. Hubby took my cell with him to work and I did not remember to grab one before he left. At the end of the day it goes up, so not worth taking now. We are going out of town to visit his family from the 4th-12th, and I know being on vacation it will be hard to stay on track. I am going to try my hardest, but there will not be another weigh-in till after we get back. :)  I have my cheats planned out too. Like I know I definetly want a taco and egg roll from Jack in the box! I also would not mind eating the tortillas and rice when we get El Polio Loco.  I am making it a point though, that if it is not one of my absolute favorites, or if I can get it or some thing similar here not to eat it. Hope I do well!!!!

So when we were in Triberg, I ate this AMAZING salad! It is mixed lettuce on top of a carrot and cabbage slaw that is on top of German Potato salad. I have been trying to replicate it minus the beets, and potato salad. Tonight I think I came pretty close, and we are having it along with a sausage, egg,  and cheese quiche. I seriously am starting to enjoy finding ways of eating all the same type of food I already enjoy just in a healthier way. I also LOVE that I am getting results.

I love chips, and so does H. They are a favorite snack around here, but since I can't have them I have been making zucchini chips. I use my mandolin to cut them about all the same consistency, lay them on parchment paper, sprits with some flaxseed oil, and then coat them with Pampered Chef's Garlic parmesan dipping mix.  The first couple times they came out so burnt none were edible. I have to frequently watch my stoves settings since it is super touchy.

Now that I have my eating under control, I need to consistently get off my ass! It is a hard habit to get back into.  I am however, determined to get to my goal of 150lbs before we move to our next base. SO have to suck it up and get at least 3 good days a week in! I will start off with that and hopefully, by next  weight watch Wednesday post (in 2 wks) I will have kept up with it! Then maybe ill have a reason to re-do my measurements!!!

Weekend Recap

Another weekend down, and I have to admit it was a nice.  Friday we spent most of the day just hanging out while Hubby was at work. H had a fever the day before so she needed to get lots of rest. We enjoyed hours of watching My Little Pony together. Saturday we all were feeling good and went to a yard sale at the base community center. H scored big time! She got a ton of different things for her barbies, like a bike and snowmobile. She even got a Barbie dream house with shower and washer dryer in it for 5 bucks! She was super adorable paying all the people with the quarters she has earned by being a good girl. We also went to the Grand opening in our base mall  of  a store called Nanu Nana.

Owls everywhere!!!!! I love all the decor items, especially all the owls. I bought one of the small white owls and one cream pumpkin. I can't wait to go back and get the Welcome sign too! I can see this store causing a problem for my wallet. :)

After, we got H an ice pop and headed home. Later that night we had a party to go to for one of hubby's co-workers that was leaving Germany, so we wrapped her in a safety vest to keep her clothes clean. Pretty smart thinking because the vest was covered in it after about 5 minutes.

Sunday Hubby took care of both of the girls the entire day, while I enjoyed a much needed girls trip to the spa. My friends and I had an amazing time swimming in all the different pools, relaxing in healing spring water, and sweating it out in some aromatherapy saunas. We even got to explore the little town and see some Roman Bath Ruins.
We enjoyed a late lunch at a Biergarten, and then had to head back home. I am so thankful that not only did Hubby watch the girls to allow me to go, but when I got home he had cleaned both of their rooms and the kitchen. He is definitely a keeper!

WW Wednesday 5

It was a good week, i'm down a pound. I know it is going very slowly, yet that doesn't really bother me. I am just happy that I am losing. This week I even started working out. Did my first video on Daily Burn and actually enjoyed it. Followed it with about 20 mins on my elliptical, which is super hard since it is self powered. WHEW! I know it will get easier with time, so again not disappointed with my self at all!

So I am at 218.8, sorry for such a craptastic photo but you get the point. :)

Dinner tonight was FANTASTIC! We had steak (which is a rare occurrence) with onions and peppers. I like to caramelize (ok blacken) them in my cast iron and serve on rice or have a baked potato. This time though, I made rice from cauliflower. Hubby and H had mashed potatoes, and frozen strawberries.   They are a little weird. :) My rice was surprisingly, very similar to real white rice and now I can't wait to try it with some homemade, low carb chinese recipes!

I hope with working out I can get back to looking like this!  I mean look at that thigh gap!!! And those tone arms. I know with some hard work I WILL look and feel that good again! Wonder if I still have that shirt?  ;)

Weekend in Triberg

We had such an amazing weekend and I could not wait to share it with all of you. Due to my computer and camera not getting a long, I had to wait till today. Now that things are fixed, I can't decide which pictures to share! We traveled to Triberg Germany, home of Germany's largest water falls and the world's largest coocoo clock. The food, waterfalls, and people were all  definetly worth the 3 hour car ride.
Girls are super excited to get to stay the night in a hotel. It was a super cute place too, and the owner was very sweet. She made sure we had everything we needed and we got free admission to the falls with our room!

Isn't it so cute! It is surrounded by the Black Forest.

It had a ton of super cute things to buy! I got a few different owls to add to my collection, but it is known for the Black Forest Coocoo Clocks.

The falls were absolutely stunning! They go down for miles, and this is not even the top! Even though it was raining when we got to see them, H was so amazed by them. She kept telling us how fairies live their. :)

Original Gallows dating back to 1721!  They are in the middle of a field off the side of the road. It took us a bit to find them, but we were determined to see them. Can't even imagine how many lost their lives in that very same spot. It was a little spooky to think about, especially with the weather being all gloomy.
Last, the World's Largest Coo Coo Clock! It is the size of a house, and if you go in you can see how all the gears work. There is also a cute store where there were MORE owls. :) It was a great adventure and now we can not wait for the next one! Were thinking we will visit the town where The Grimm Brothers are from!

WW Wednesday 4

Another Wednesday and not much improvement on my end. Still at 219.7. I still have not started working out and I am hoping that when I do, it will kick this slow metabolism into gear. Next week I will also be taking my measurements, though I doubt much has changed in that department either. I might not be losing as fast as I want, BUT I do feel better. I have a ton more energy and am sleeping better. Even the sugar cravings have subsided. I also found another blog that I am really digging and want to share the love!

Meet Nicole! She has done an amazing job and I am so inspired by her story! Not only is she also a military wife like me, but she is also here in Germany!  Super cool right?!  So far I have made three of her recipes. Follow the links under her pictures and it will take you to her page and the recipes.

Pumpkin Brownies Scroll down a tad
Chicken Stir Fry Scroll a tad
Thanks to her blog it has been easier to stick to the low carb! She also does Beach Body challenges and I think I will be joining her soon on one! Will have to bust out my Power 90, as another workout option! Can't say much about DailyBurn as I have not tried  it yet. Going to need to before my trial ends. ;)

Weekend Recap 5

This weekend wasn't all that thrilling. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at home.

M is still teething and pretty hardcore now. She has started to chew threw her bottles, which are not easy to replace here. :/
On Sunday I took H to a place here in Germany called World of fun. It had ball pits, climbing playgrounds, and tons of other fun stuff for her to do. A few of our friends went too, and we even did some indoor mini golfing.
It was her first time golfing of any sort. Lets just say we will keep focusing on the horseback riding. ;)

It has been crazy weather all weekend. H has been living in her rain boots. She decided she needed this awesome hat from the Bx. Unfortunately, Hubby wouldn't buy me this adorable Vera Bradley umbrella. He said I already have enough of them. Such a guy thing to say!
Hubby did however, let us get these lovelies! So super excited that we found these! Every time we would look for them at the BX they weren't there. We spent the rest of Sunday playing with these two and H's Anna that is like this and had a blast.

WW Wednesday 3

Didn't have my camera to take a pic but my weight is only down by .2lbs. SO its now 219.7. Can't say I am surprised, because I was pretty bad on the 4th and 5th. Now that the long weekend  and holiday is over its business as usual.

Tonight we are having a family favorite, Breakfast for dinner. Since I don't want to waste my carb on pancakes, I found an alternative. The recipe and picture are from the roasted root. Can't wait to try them. I'll use cinnamon and splenda as the topping, a low carb form of my usual. I haven't started working out yet but plan on it starting tomorrow.
Since planning ahead is a big part of succeeding on any diet, I am going to check out Slender kitchen's meal planning. She has a ton of options from low carb to low calorie.
Found this on pinterest and it pretty much sums up how I have been with working out. I have decided I need to wake up at least an hour prior to the girls if I want to workout. Once they are up it is super hard to make time for it.

Weekend Recap 4

This weekend was a blast! I love long weekends when we get to spend a ton of time together. We started with a fantastic play date on Wednesday.

H and I made Mermaid Pie for our guests. All of her friends enjoyed it, and she was a very proud little chef. It is pistachio pudding in a pre-made pie crust, topped with cool whip, and marshmallows. Then she added some silver sprinkles so it would "farkle."

The night before H helped me and the Hubby fill balloons with water and stuff little dinosaurs in them. We placed them in the freezer over night so they would be solid.

When our guests arrived we took them all out, cut the balloons off and were left with dinosaur eggs!        The kids had a blast cracking them open outside in the girls water table! It was such a great distraction for them from the summer heat.

While the kids played the moms and I sampled somePink Papaya Products. We gave ourselves pedicures in a bag, one of the things I do at parties. H decided she wanted one too!

Friday, we celebrated M's first 4th of July. It is not the same celebrating it over here in Germany, and it really makes me homesick, but we made it fun for the girls as best as we could. We first wen't to the festival the base was having.

H rode rides, got her face painted, and all of us enjoyed some carnival food! After, the fair we went home and snuggled together in our room watching movies. We missed the fireworks this year since both girls slept and we did not want to wake them to go back to base.

Saturday we went to a local medieval festival. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time we where there but we all still had fun. We even got the blacksmith to make some nails that we will be using on our kitchen table!

Ended our long weekend with a trip to the park on Sunday. While M was in the swing for the first time  I noticed her first tooth is popping out.  She is getting so big and I just want her to stay my little baby! Hope you all had great weekends too! Would love to hear how you all spent them!

WW Wednesday 2

So it has been one week since I really started to try to lose weight, and I am happy to say I lost almost 2lbs.

So far I have only changed my eating habits. I have been eating low carb during each of my meals, but allow myself one carb once a day. Each day its different and I only have one serving of whatever I choose. I don't feel like depriving myself of anything I want because I know I can't keep that kind of lifestyle for long.  I am also eating a lot more vegetables and only drinking water and diet soda. I want to eventually cut out the diet soda too, but I seem to do better when I make small changes at a time.

Picture from Pinterest
One Recipe  that we tried this past week, was Asparagus wrapped in Turkey Bacon with a bit of parm cheese. It was soo good! The bacon gave it a smokey flavor and I roasted it in the oven so that the asparagus was a little crisp. Normally I can't get the hubby to eat asparagus, but he actually enjoyed it like this. H ate the turkey bacon but would not try the asparagus LOL. Were still trying to get her to eat things that are green.. with not much luck. This week I plan on adding in some excersise. I plan on using my Power 90 program, and also trying out Daily Burn. I like that it has a 30 day free trial so I can see if this is a right fit for me. I would love to get into the gym, but having H & M that is not really an option right now. With all the changes I am making to get into shape, I am most excited about all the super cute clothes I will soon get to wear. I especially love all things from Ryleigh Rue Clothing!
Can't wait to get some cute matching outfits with my girls! :)
